GBR 8657L Bellino |
CZE 69 Mary-S |
1 |
By failing to keep clear of a starboard boat, Mary S broke RRS 10
By failing to avoid a contact, Mary S also broke RRS 14
It was not reasonably possible for Bellino, the right-of-way boat, to avoid the contact with Mary S when it was clear that Mary S was not keeping clear, so she didn't break RRS 14.
Bellino's score was made significantly worse through no fault of her own by physical damage because of the action of Mary S that was breaking RRS 10 and 14. So she meets the requirements of RRS 62.1(b).
Too few of the race has been sailed to give redress and score Bellino for the Fastnet race itself.
It is possible to consider redress for the series score for the Fastnet race. |
Mary S is DSQ in the Fastnet Race.
The Fastnet race result for Bellino stand as RET.
Bellino is awarded the average results of all races of the series sailed prior to the Fastnet race in IRC3 for the purpose of scoring the Fastnet race in the RORC series. |

IRL 20 infringed SI 27.2.1 and the infringement, even though it was unintentional and no advantage has been gained, was not unavoidable by using a different GPS equipment and relying on multiple sources of information.
Therefore, there was no improper action of the Race Committee by penalizing IRL 20 in accordance with SI 27.2.1
Furthermore, IRL 20's score in the race was made worse through her own fault.
Therefore, the requirements for redress in RRS 62.1 are not met. |
Redress is not granted. |
